Meet The Bloggers

http://newyorkmetro.com/news/media/15966/

This depresses me. To save you the trouble of looking for it: there are no revelations about any useful websites here. This is just their typical, “Someone’s rich and you’re not” article. (The subhed is, “The Haves and Have-Nots of the Blogging Boom.” That should be the subhed on every NY Mag article - just replace “blogging bloom” with the topic du jour.)

Quick question: Is there anyone in all of Metropolis who has not seen a feature article about Gawker yet? Anyone? Maybe one or two information-averse people who don’t read any newspapers, perhaps? I just want to know… because I think that’s New York’s primary demographic here. After all, I don’t think that the intention of the editors is to pick up worldly subscribers, since articles like this annoy them with the retelling of a story that’s been told a thousand times over the past year, in statelier pages.

…umm, oops! That’s exactly the audience they were going for! Uh-oh! Well, in any case, they’re clearly handing out stale bread at Del Moss-o.

Also, there’s definitely a reason why no one at Gawker wants to talk to NY mag, but I’m sure it has nothing to do with this at all. No, not one bit.

And furthermore: note how photos were provided by Nikola and Dobkin. Two wholly non-objective figures in the blogging saga. Just in case you needed further proof that the NY Mag editors shamelessly provide handjobs in public.

Coming soon to NY Mag’s pages: Stuyvestant High lesbians who are rich friends of Amy Sacco, and who blog about it! And who are more popular than you are!
