I thought “Lance Armstrong” at first…

Lanced! So now the backlash finally comes out of the closet: celebrities are not happy when the media comes after them with a full blitz just so that they’ll reveal that they’re gay. I was just thinking this last night - this seems to be the season where everyone’s coming out, isn’t it? Why the trend?

Well, it’s not a media trend - more like a blogger trend. And there are two main culprits. Gawker is quite famous for (and because of) its relentless efforts to pursue the down-and-dirty truth behind certain celebrities’ romantic desires. I have to say, as a frequent Gawker reader, they are definitely tireless in their joke-beatings but overall I think they are not evil about it - they’re merely lobbing softballs. It’s Perez Hilton who I often see pitching low and inside. (Misplaced analogy, these motherfuckers wouldn’t watch sports unless you tied them to a chair and made Tom Brady play naked)

Let me make this clear, because it doesn’t need discovery or discussion: Mario Lavandeira is a complete douchebag. He hangs out with celebrities and then talks shit about them on his blog. He is an out-of-the-closet gay who harasses gay celebrities publicly, going where no journalist should go into celebrities’ private lives. He is a disgrace to the gay community and his bullshit sets us back 40 years. His site is completely worthless and immoral; no one should read it.

In the end, there’s nothing wrong with being gay, no matter how bad the douchebag wants us to know about it. We don’t care anyway. Please just leave everyone alone to do their jobs.

Although I’m dying to know about some people
