I has events.

Here’s an idea: I have a new influx of event invites in my inbox and browser tabs, all conspiring to make me a consumer of some sort from now until eternity (like, no one’s inviting me to a tribute to BrianVan, and, really, I wouldn’t be too embarrassed to attend one). I am weary, because I haven’t taken a night off since early last week, and I need an intern to attend each of these things for me and tell me how fun it was. Anyway, I’m just going to cut and paste.

(these are not chronological)

Pubnight #619 (07/30/08) - 7:30 Barramundi

Good evening, summer Pub Nighters, and welcome to the PN Discovery
Channel. We have a lot of fun facts for you tonight. Actually, just
one. I was going to inundate you all with facts about the barramundi
fish, but then I heard about this neat-o tree-shrew which can drink
all of you under the table. (Yes, even you over there in the corner. I
see you trying to be upright.) Apparently, it can drink all night,
never get tipsy, and has 55 millions years of practice. Check it out:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/7530720.stm

(I also want to know more about this plant which ferments itself. This
strikes me as the height of efficiency.)

Anyway, for the part you skimmed over the science to get at, Pub Night
was last at Barramundi in the summer of 2006. With its ginger-vodka
martinis, mojitos, and infamous white sangria, this LES bar sounds
perfect when the thermometer hits 90. (Seriously, 90? I hate summer.)

Happy hour is from 6pm to 9pm, with $3 draft beer and $1 off all other
drinks, important info for those of you who want to start early.

Australia: Barramundi
New Zealand: 67 Clinton St. (btw. Rivington and Stanton)
Tasmania: 7:30 p.m.
Kangaroo?: sorry, no

sure to scroll down and mouse over.)
Didjabringabeeralong: Whiskey Ward (121 Essex St, btwn Delancey and
